Community Guidelines
Last Updated: 24 September 2026
These Community Guidelines apply to every community feed on the Trainera platform, whether you use it in the Trainera app, on trainera.fit, or in a gym's own branded app or website. Each community is run by the gym or coach that invited you, called the Host in these Guidelines. The Host moderates its community. The platform operator, TRAINERA.FIT LLC, handles serious cases, escalations and appeals that the Host does not resolve.
By posting, commenting, reacting or voting in a community you confirm that you have read and accept these Guidelines and the Host's own rules. You accept them in the app before your first post. If the Guidelines or the Host's rules change, you will be asked to accept them again before you can post.
1. Who can take part
You must be at least 16 years old to use a community. If the date of birth on your profile shows that you are under 16, the community is not available to you.
A community is open to the Host's active members, the trainers on the Host's roster, the Host's staff and the Host itself. When your membership ends, is frozen or is removed, your access to the community ends with it. Content you posted stays visible to the other members unless you delete it or your account.
Use your own account and your real identity. One person, one account.
2. Zero tolerance
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour. Content that breaks these Guidelines is removed, and people who post it can lose access to the community, to the Host's app or to the entire platform. Serious breaches lead to removal without a prior warning.
3. What the community is for
The community is a place for the Host's members to share training, progress, meals, milestones, questions and encouragement, and for the Host to post announcements, polls and challenges.
Your workouts, meals, personal records and milestones from the app appear in the community only when you share them yourself or turn on automatic sharing in your community settings. Automatic sharing is off by default.
4. The rules
Every moderation decision refers to one of the rules below by its number, or to one of the Host's own rules.
- Be respectful. No harassment, bullying, insults, humiliation or intimidation of anyone, inside or outside the community.
- No hate speech. No attacks on people because of their race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, body or any similar characteristic.
- No threats and no violence. No threats against people or property, no incitement to violence and no glorification of violence or of the people who commit it.
- No sexual content. No nudity, sexual imagery or sexual advances. Any sexual content involving a minor is reported to the authorities.
- No promotion of self-harm. No content that encourages suicide, self-injury, eating disorders or extreme weight loss, and no shaming of people who ask for help.
- Nothing illegal. No content that is illegal where you or the other members live, including doping products and other illegal substances, weapons, fraud, stolen accounts and content that infringes someone else's copyright or trademarks.
- No dangerous health advice. Do not present yourself as a medical professional if you are not one, do not tell other members to stop prescribed treatment, and do not promote unsafe training, crash diets or unproven supplements as safe.
- No spam and no unsolicited advertising. No repeated or off-topic posts, no selling of products or services that the Host has not approved, no scams. The Host can block links, phone numbers and email addresses in posts.
- Respect other people's privacy. Do not post other people's personal data, photos, videos or messages without their consent, and do not film or photograph others in the gym without permission.
- No impersonation. Do not pretend to be another member, the Host, its staff, a trainer or Trainera.
- Play fair. Stay on the community's purpose, do not manipulate polls, challenges or leaderboards, and do not use the report or block tools against people who did nothing wrong.
- Follow the Host's own rules shown when you join and the instructions of the Host's moderators.
5. How moderation works
Automated checks before publishing: Every post and comment is checked before it is published. A word filter compares the text against a built-in list and the Host's own blocked words. If the Host has turned it on, links, phone numbers and email addresses are blocked. The text, a reduced copy of any image and two frames of any video are also classified by an automated service (OpenAI) for sexual content, hate, harassment, violence, self-harm and illegal activity.
What the checks do: Depending on the result, your post is published, held for review by the Host, or rejected. A rejected post is never published; the reason is shown to you immediately and the same rejection notice as for any other restriction is recorded.
New members: During the first 7 days of your membership your first post is held until the Host approves it. The Host can shorten this period or switch it off.
Human review: The Host's owner and staff review held content, reports and appeals. Trainera's team reviews the cases that are escalated to it. Nobody is suspended or removed from a community by an automated system alone; those decisions are always made by a person.
When the automated checks are unavailable: If the automated classification is temporarily unavailable, posts by members may be published first and re-checked within a few minutes. Content that turns out to breach these Guidelines is then hidden and the author is told why.
Reports from several members: When several different members report the same post or comment, it is hidden automatically until a person reviews it. The author receives the same notice as for any other restriction.
6. Reporting
How to report: Open the menu on any post, comment or member profile and choose Report. Pick a reason (inappropriate content, harassment, spam, impersonation, harmful health advice, hate speech, sexual content, threat of violence, self-harm, illegal content, or other), add a description, and send. You can also tick that you believe the content is illegal and explain why.
What happens next: You receive a confirmation that the report was received. The report goes to the Host's moderation queue. Reports about the Host, its staff or its trainers, and reports that concern illegal content, self-harm or threats of violence, go directly to Trainera. You are told the outcome of your report.
Timing: The Host is expected to act on reports within 20 hours. Reports that are still open after that time are escalated to Trainera automatically.
Reporting in bad faith, for example to silence someone who did nothing wrong, is itself a breach of rule 11.
7. Blocking, muting and hiding
Block: You can block any member. You no longer see that person's posts, comments and reactions, and they no longer see yours. The person is not told that you blocked them. Announcements by the Host's staff remain visible even if you have blocked that staff member.
Mute: Muting hides a member's posts from your feed without affecting anything else.
Hide: You can hide any single post from your feed.
Blocking and muting live in your settings and can be undone at any time. They do not replace a report: if someone breaks these Guidelines, please report them as well.
8. What happens when we act
Possible actions: A post or comment can be rejected before it is published, hidden or removed after publication. A member can be limited to reading for 1, 7 or 28 days, or removed from the community. Repeated or serious breaches can lead to the closure of the account under the Terms of Service.
Statement of reasons: Whenever the Host or Trainera restricts your content or your access, you receive a notice in the app, as a push notification and by email. The notice states what was restricted and how far the restriction reaches, how long it lasts, the facts that led to it, whether it followed a report or our own detection, whether automated tools were used, the rule or the law it relies on, how to appeal, and that you can bring the matter before a court.
Kept for appeal: Content that was hidden or removed is kept for 180 days so that an appeal can be reviewed, then it is permanently deleted together with its media.
9. Appeals
You can appeal any restriction from the notice in the app within 6 months of the decision. Describe why you think the decision was wrong.
The Host reviews the appeal first. If the Host does not answer within 7 days, or if the decision was about the Host's own staff, Trainera reviews it. Appeals are always reviewed by a person. If the decision is reversed, the content is restored or the restriction is lifted. If it is upheld, you are told why.
Nothing in these Guidelines limits your right to bring the matter before a court of competent jurisdiction or to complain to a supervisory authority.
10. Report illegal content (for anyone, including non-members)
If you believe that content in a Trainera community is illegal and you cannot report it in the app, for example because you are not a member, email [email protected] and include:
- why you believe the content is illegal, with the law you rely on where you can;
- where the content is (a link, the name of the gym or app, the post or the member concerned, and a screenshot if you have one);
- your name and email address, unless the notice concerns the sexual abuse of a minor, in which case you may stay anonymous;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the information in your notice is accurate and complete.
You will receive a confirmation that your notice was received, and you will be told our decision. We may share your notice, without your identity, with the Host whose community it concerns. Where content shows a threat to someone's life or safety, we inform the competent authorities.
11. Privacy in the community
What you post in a community is visible to the other members of that community and to its moderators. It is never public and is never shown to other gyms or trainers. The Host decides whether your last name is shown in full or as an initial. Your body measurements and progress photos are never shared in a community. For details, including how to withdraw your sharing consent, see the Privacy Policy.
12. Contact and operator
For questions about a specific community, contact the Host through the support option in the app. For questions about these Guidelines, contact Trainera at [email protected].
Operator: The Trainera platform is operated by TRAINERA.FIT LLC, 1202 Northeast McClain Building 7 #6963, Bentonville, AR 72712, USA.
