How much do AI fitness and nutrition apps cost in 2026?
In the US, paid workout apps in this index cost from $9.99 a month (Apple Fitness+) to $34.99 (JuggernautAI), and AI calorie trackers cost about $10.99 to $11.99 a month or $59.99 to $79.99 a year, checked October 2026 on vendor pages. A separate training app plus a nutrition app, both billed yearly, comes to roughly $140 to $192 a year in most of the pairings we priced below. Trainera puts AI training plans, AI nutrition plans and a diet tracker in one app for $0 (Free), $5.99 a month (Pro) or $6.99 a month (Premium), and prices differ by country on trainera.fit/pricing.
Every price below comes from the vendor's website, help center or Apple App Store listing, checked October 2026. Where a website and its App Store listing disagree, both figures are shown. For features rather than prices, read our best AI fitness app roundup.

Where official prices disagree
For six apps the official figures disagree or cannot be read, so check the price in your own app store before you pay.
- MyFitnessPal: the Premium page, loaded from outside the US, shows $9.99 a month or $49.99 a year; the US App Store listing includes "Monthly Premium" at $19.99 and "Yearly Premium" at $79.99. MyFitnessPal says "Pricing varies by country and by plan length."
- Fitbod: the FAQ says $15.99 a month or $95.99 a year "when purchased on our website"; the App Store also lists a $12.99 monthly plan, a $79.99 yearly plan and several legacy prices.
- Strava: $59.99 a year on the US website; the US App Store lists "Strava Subscription" at $79.99 (and a "1 Year" item at $59.99). The Strava + Runna bundle is $139.99 on the web and $149.99 in the App Store.
- Google Health Premium: Google's blog says $99 a year; the App Store still lists "Fitbit Premium Annual" at $79.99.
- Centr: the join page loads prices by script only, so the App Store list is the only readable source.
- Noom's GLP-1 programs: Noom's own pages give different figures for the same program, so we leave them out. If you are considering GLP-1 medication, talk to your doctor first.
What a year of training plus nutrition costs
Two separate apps paid yearly cost about $140 to $192 a year in most combinations; paying both monthly roughly doubles that.
| Setup | Training | Nutrition | Per year | Good to know |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Fitbod + MacroFactor | $95.99 | $71.99 | $167.98 | Paid monthly: $27.98 a month, $335.76 a year |
| Fitbod + Cronometer Gold | $95.99 | $59.99 | $155.98 | Cronometer has a free tier if you skip Gold |
| Alpha Progression + Cronometer Gold | $79.99 | $59.99 | $139.98 | Alpha builds the plan and suggests weights and reps |
| Apple Fitness+ + MacroFactor | $79.99 | $71.99 | $151.98 | Workout videos and Custom Plans; needs an iPhone or Apple Watch |
| Runna + MacroFactor | $119.99 | $71.99 | $191.98 | For runners with a race goal |
| JuggernautAI + MacroFactor | $349.99 | $71.99 | $421.98 | Powerlifting and powerbuilding only |
| Alpha Progression free + Cronometer free | $0 | $0 | $0 | No plan generator, no AI photo logging |
| Trainera Pro | In one app | $71.88 | 12 months at $5.99; no food photo scan | |
| Trainera Premium | In one app | $83.88 | 12 months at $6.99; includes the AI food photo scan | |
These rows are not like for like. Fitbod and JuggernautAI adapt training from your logged performance and feedback, MacroFactor adjusts macro targets weekly from your intake and weight trend, and Trainera's AI plans come in a monthly allowance (5 training and 5 nutrition plans on Pro, 10 of each on Premium). Compare what you will use, not only the total.

What you get without paying
Eight of the 19 apps have a free tier you can keep using, so start there before you pay.
- Alpha Progression: unlimited workout logging, your own plans and all 795 exercise videos, with no ads and no account needed.
- Caliber: unlimited workouts and 800+ exercises.
- Freeletics: 34 HIIT bodyweight workouts and 100+ exercises.
- Cronometer: food logging, barcode scanning and 95 nutrients.
- MyFitnessPal: food and exercise logging and macro goals; barcode scanning has been Premium-only since 1 October 2022.
- Lose It!: a daily calorie budget and the food database; its official pages disagree on whether barcode scanning is free.
- Strava: a free version for tracking.
- Trainera: workout logging, the diet tracker, and 1 AI training and 1 AI nutrition plan a month.
Ladder, JuggernautAI, Centr, Noom, MacroFactor, Runna and Apple Fitness+ have trials but no free plan, and Fitbod describes none on its FAQ or App Store listing. MacroFactor is blunt about it: "there isn't (and will never be) a free version". For a deeper look at free plans, see what is really free in workout apps.
Is a paid AI fitness app worth it for you?
It depends on how you train and whether you want nutrition in the same app.
- You lift and want sessions planned for you: Fitbod or Alpha Progression. See our Fitbod pricing breakdown.
- You compete in powerlifting: JuggernautAI is built only for powerlifting and powerbuilding.
- You want a coach-written program and a team: Ladder, though we found no Android app.
- You only want calorie logging by photo: a dedicated tracker such as MacroFactor or Cronometer Gold may suit you better than an all-in-one app (see our photo calorie counter comparison).
- You already log in MyFitnessPal: read what Premium adds and what stays free first.
- You run: Runna for race plans, Strava for tracking.
- You want a structured weight-loss program: Noom, at $209 a year with no free plan (our Noom cost guide has the details).
- You want training and nutrition plans in one app on a small budget: Trainera, below.
If you have a health condition, are pregnant, or have a history of disordered eating, talk to your doctor before you start a calorie target from any app.
Where Trainera fits
Trainera is a low-cost option if you want AI training plans, AI nutrition plans and a diet tracker in one app instead of paying for two.
Free stays free with no card: workout logging, the diet tracker, 50 exercises, basic analytics, 1 AI training plan and 1 AI nutrition plan a month. Pro ($5.99 a month in the US) adds unlimited exercises, full analytics, 5 AI training and 5 AI nutrition plans a month, a weekly AI shopping list, TRAI with 40 requests a month and offline downloads. Premium ($6.99) adds AI food photo scanning (up to 20 a day), AI Nutrition Chat, 10 AI training plans, 10 AI nutrition plans and 10 AI workouts a month, and TRAI with 90 requests a month.
Be clear on two limits. The photo scan gives an AI estimate of the foods, grams, calories and macros on your plate, and you correct items before logging; it does not replace weighing food. And client plans are monthly only, with no yearly discount. TRAI, the in-app assistant, answers questions about training, nutrition and recovery, but it is not a medical service. If a coach or gym runs your training on Trainera, you use the app for free. See what the client app includes on the Trainera for clients page.
How to pay less for any of these apps
The same subscription can cost less on another channel or billing period.
- Compare web and App Store prices. Strava's yearly plan is $59.99 on its US website, while the US App Store also lists a $79.99 "Strava Subscription" item; Fitbod's App Store list has items below its website price.
- Pay yearly only after the trial. Fitbod, MacroFactor and Cronometer cost roughly half per month on yearly billing, which only saves money if you keep using them.
- Watch for in-app offers. Lose It! says "Most users will receive discounted offers while using the app."
- Know the refund rules. Alpha Progression offers a full refund on request; Freeletics gives a 14-day money-back guarantee.
Coaches comparing business software should use our fitness software pricing index instead.
