Best Platform for Online Personal Trainers 2026
Which platform fits an online personal trainer in 2026? Trainerize, TrueCoach, Everfit, Kahunas, My PT Hub, PT Distinction, FitBudd, Hevy Coach and Trainera compared on verified October 2026 prices, branded apps, payment fees and trials.

What is the best platform for online personal trainers in 2026?
The best platform is the one that covers programming, a client app, check-ins and payments at the client count you expect in a year, at a fee you can live with. At 30 clients on monthly billing, Trainera Pro costs $49.99, Kahunas Growth $69, Everfit Pro $75 and Trainerize Pro $79; for unlimited clients at one price, My PT Hub Premium is €59 and Kahunas Ultimate $99. If you want your own branded app on a mid-priced plan, PT Distinction Pro ($59.90) and TrueCoach Standard ($69.98) include one.
Checked October 2026 against each vendor's own pricing page. Prices are monthly billing in US dollars unless marked €, before tax and add-ons, and can differ by country. Trainera is our own platform; its figures come from our price list.

What an online coaching platform has to do
Emailing a spreadsheet and sending a payment link used to be enough. Now most clients expect a mobile app with exercise videos, a way to message their coach, check-ins and some sync with the watch or phone they already use. A platform that covers only part of that pushes you into extra tools.
In practice, check six things before you sign up:
- Programming: a workout builder, an exercise library with video and, if you coach nutrition, meal plans or macro tracking.
- Client app: iOS and Android, free for the client.
- Check-ins and messaging: forms, progress tracking and chat in one place.
- Payments: which processors, and what percentage the platform keeps.
- Brand: whether clients see your name or the vendor's, and what a branded app costs.
- Cost at your target roster, not the entry price.
All-in-one platform or a stack of tools?
A common setup is a program builder, a separate payment link, a chat app and a website builder. It works, but programs, payments and messages end up in different places, and clients install apps from several companies.
An all-in-one platform puts programming, check-ins, chat and payments behind one login. You still pay for it, and some vendors sell parts as add-ons: Trainerize charges $20 to $45 a month for Advanced Nutrition and $10 for Stripe payments; Everfit sells Autoflow automation from $29 and Payments from $9. That is fine, as long as you add those to the bill before you compare. A stack can also be the right call if you already love one specialist tool and only need light billing on top.

Your own branded app and website
Clients who open an app with your name on it see a business, not a subscription to someone else's product. How you get there differs a lot:
- Included in a mid-priced plan: PT Distinction Pro ($59.90, 25 clients) includes your own branded Android and iOS apps; TrueCoach Standard ($69.98, 20 clients) includes a custom-branded app; Kahunas Ultimate ($99) includes your own store listings, with your own Apple developer account at $99 a year.
- One-time fee: Trainerize charges $169 on Pro plans; My PT Hub charges €95, or €145 a month for a white label app with your own store listing.
- Higher plan or contract: FitBudd puts a white-labelled app on Super Pro with a $75 setup fee; Everfit lists white label under Enterprise.
- No branded app: Hevy Coach clients train in the Hevy app.
On Trainera, Free and Starter use colour presets, Pro sets your own brand colours, and Business adds your logo and a website on your own domain. Your own branded iOS and Android app, built and published by Trainera, is on Enterprise. If a store app is a must at a smaller budget, the tools above that include one are cheaper. For what each option really means, read own App Store listing vs branded shared app.
Programming, AI and exercise libraries
Programming eats most of a coach's week, so the builder and library matter. Vendor figures for exercise libraries, as published: My PT Hub 8,000+ HD exercise videos, FitBudd 4,000+ exercises with demo videos, TrueCoach 3,000+ video exercises, Trainera 1,800+ exercises with video, Everfit 1,000+ exercises, Kahunas 1,000+ exercise videos and Hevy Coach 400+ exercises plus your own.
AI is now standard on the pricing pages: Trainerize lists an AI Workout Builder, PT Distinction an AI Program Builder and AI Meal Planner, CoachRx an AI program designer, Everfit AI-powered Smart Response. A bigger library is not automatically better. What helps in practice is how fast you can swap an exercise, reuse a template and adjust a week when a client misses sessions.
Payments: what the platform keeps
If most of your income runs through the app, the fee can cost more than the subscription. Kahunas says it takes no commission on Stripe or PayPal sales, and FitBudd states zero platform commission. CoachRx adds 2% on top of Stripe fees, 4.9% + $0.30 in total in the US according to its fees article. TrueCoach Payments charges a flat 5% per transaction.
Trainera's fee on card and PayPal coaching payments is 8% on Free and Starter, 5% on Pro, 3% on Business and 1% on Enterprise, with 0% on cash and bank transfer. Trainers can choose request-only coaching, monthly subscriptions (card, plus Apple Pay and Google Pay), pay per plan, or cash for in-person clients.
Client app, wearables and check-ins
Every platform here gives clients a mobile app; Everfit says its app is free for clients, and Hevy Coach clients get Hevy Pro free. Wearable support varies: TrueCoach lists Apple, Garmin and WHOOP on Standard and Pro, and Kahunas and FitBudd (Pro) list wearable integration. On Trainera, clients can connect Apple Health (iPhone app), Health Connect (Android app), Fitbit or Polar; steps, heart rate, sleep, calories and workouts show up for the client and the coach. The iPhone app also comes with an Apple Watch app for logging sets with a rest timer and heart rate.
Where Trainera fits
Trainera is our platform. It is one product for trainers, gyms and their clients: training and nutrition plans, check-ins, habits, chat, payments, a branded trainer website, a free client app for iOS and Android, a trainer marketplace and an AI assistant called TRAI. The app runs in 26 languages, which matters if your clients do not all speak English, and the library has 1,800+ exercises with video and 1,100+ recipes. Intake questionnaires are on every plan, including Free.
Pricing is flat per plan, not per client: Free (3 clients, no card), Starter $19.99 (10), Pro $49.99 (30), Business $99 (75) and Enterprise on request. These are the US prices on trainera.fit/pricing; prices differ by country, and yearly billing is about 10 times monthly. Automations come with every paid plan (1 on Starter, 3 on Pro, 10 on Business with a visual builder). Pro adds a client community and live sessions through YouTube with join reminders and attendance; Business adds online courses. Trainers on Starter and up can also connect Claude or ChatGPT to their account over MCP.
Where another tool may suit you better: a store app at a mid-range budget (PT Distinction, TrueCoach, Kahunas), 0% commission on client payments (Kahunas, FitBudd), unlimited clients at a flat €59 (My PT Hub), or Garmin and WHOOP sync, which Trainera does not have. How to choose in one afternoon
Write down your client count in 12 months, how clients will pay you and whether you need your own store app this year. Shortlist two or three platforms from the tables above, price each at that roster with the add-ons you need and the payment fee, and start the trials on the same day.
Then run one real client through each app for a week: a program, a check-in and a payment. The platform your client actually uses without reminders is usually the right one.
