Gym membership prices in Split
In Split, monthly memberships run from €26.50 on a budget annual plan to €75 at a full-service gym.
| Gym | Price | Discounts and options | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gyms4you Split (24/7, opened 5 April 2025) | €26.50 a month on an annual plan, €30.50 on a semi-annual plan | Students and retirees €22.50 / €26.50 | Dalmatinski portal |
| MoFIT | From €60 a month | - | mofit.hr |
| Fitness Centar Joker (4 locations in Split-Dalmatia) | €75 a month | Students €65, day pass €15 | fitnesscentarjoker.hr |
For a longer view, a September 2023 survey by Dalmacija Danas found Fitness Joker at €60 to €90, Guliver at €62 to €68 and California Gym at about €50 a month. The arrival of a 24/7 budget chain in 2025 put a much lower price next to these.
What about Rijeka?
We did not find a published gym membership price list for Rijeka that we could verify, so we do not quote one.
What is published in Rijeka is personal training: Legacy Gym lists €35 per session and 12 sessions for €332. For trainer prices across the three cities, see our guide to personal trainer costs in Croatia. If you are comparing gyms in Rijeka, ask each one for its full price list, including the price for a monthly plan without commitment.
What is included in a Croatian gym membership
A basic membership covers the gym floor; classes, spa, personal training and longer opening hours often sit in higher tiers or cost extra.
- Gym floor access. Always included. Check opening hours: Gyms4you in Split, for example, is open 24/7.
- Group classes. Included at some gyms, extra at others. Ask before you compare prices.
- Spa and sauna. Usually a separate, more expensive tier, as at Sparta Gym (€150 to €155 with spa).
- Personal training. Usually extra, at about €25 to €40 a session on published 2026 price lists.
- Multiple locations. Chains such as Fitness Centar Joker with 4 locations may let you train at any of them; confirm it in the terms.
How Croatian gyms price their packages
Gyms in Croatia use four levers: commitment length, target group, entry type and extras.
| Lever | Example from published prices | Effect on the monthly price |
|---|---|---|
| Commitment length | Gyms4you Split: €26.50 annual vs €30.50 semi-annual | About 13% less for the longer commitment |
| Student and senior prices | Joker: €65 for students vs €75; Gyms4you: €22.50 vs €26.50 | About 13% to 15% less |
| Day pass | Joker: €15 a visit | 5 visits cost as much as a month |
| Premium tier | Sparta: €65 to €70 vs €150 to €155 with spa | More than double |
For members, the math is simple. If you train fewer than five times a month at Joker, day passes are cheaper; at five visits both cost €75, and from the sixth the monthly membership wins. A long commitment saves money only if you keep going for the whole period.
How to compare gym prices before you sign
Compare the price per visit you will really make, not the headline monthly price.
- Write down how many times a month you expect to train. Divide the monthly price by that number.
- Ask for the no-commitment monthly price as well as the annual one.
- Check what is included: classes, spa, opening hours, other locations.
- Ask whether there is a sign-up fee and what happens when you want to stop.
- Read the renewal clause and the notice period before you sign.
- Try a day pass or a trial visit at the time of day you usually train, to see how busy it is.
A €26.50 membership you use twelve times a month costs about €2.20 a visit. A €75 membership you use four times costs almost €19 a visit, more than a day pass.
VAT, fiscal receipts and your rights as a member
Gym prices for consumers in Croatia include VAT where the gym is in the VAT system, every payment needs a fiscal receipt, and online contracts carry a 14-day withdrawal right.
- VAT. The standard rate is 25%, and no reduced rate applies to gym memberships. The registration threshold is €60,000 a year since 1 January 2025, according to the Porezna uprava. A gym inside the VAT system has 25% inside its price.
- Fiscal receipts. Since 1 January 2026 every invoice to a consumer must be fiscalized, whether paid in cash, by card or by bank transfer (Porezna uprava, B2C). There is no exemption for online card payments or for fitness.
- Online sign-up. Under the Consumer Protection Act (NN 19/22), a contract concluded at a distance or off-premises can be withdrawn within 14 days without a reason, and the trader must refund within 14 days of the notice (gov.hr).
- Automatic renewal. A fixed-term contract that renews automatically with an unreasonably short window to object is listed as a potentially unfair term in the Consumer Protection Act. Read the renewal clause before you sign.
This section is general information, not legal advice. Gym owners should check their contracts and fiscal setup with a lawyer or accountant. For the invoice side of running a gym, see our guide to eRačun 2027 for trainers and gyms.
Pricing tips for gym owners
With a budget chain at €26.50 a month in both Zagreb and Split, a mid-range gym has to show what the extra euros buy.
- Publish your price list. Most prices in this article come from gyms that publish them. A gym without a public price list is left out of comparisons like this one.
- Offer a no-commitment monthly price next to the annual one, so the discount for commitment is visible.
- Use a day pass as an entry point, priced so that a regular visitor is better off on a monthly plan.
- Build a clear premium tier (spa, classes, PT sessions) instead of discounting the basic one.
- Follow up on leads and renewals. Our playbook on renewal reminder automation and the guide on how to grow gym memberships cover the process.
Where Trainera fits
Trainera lets a Croatian gym sell its membership packages online by card and run members, check-ins and classes from one dashboard; it does not issue fiscal receipts.
- Membership packages with your own price in euros and billing cycle, sold online by card through your own Stripe account with a 0% Trainera platform fee. Stripe's processing fee is billed by Stripe to the gym.
- Each online package purchase is a one-off card payment, not an automatically renewing subscription. Payments taken at the desk, in cash or by bank transfer, are recorded in Trainera.
- Digital member card with QR check-in, a Leads CRM with a 7-stage pipeline, a class planner with recurring series and rosters, a gym website builder and a members-only community feed.
- Members train in the Trainera app on iOS, Android and the web, in Croatian; on White Label and Studio the gym gets its own branded apps.
Trainera is not a fiscal cash register and does not issue fiscal receipts in Croatia, so the gym keeps its own fiscal solution for every member payment. Trainera also has no built-in cancellation button; withdrawal and cancellation follow the gym's own process.
| Gym plan (Croatia) | Price a month | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Core | €89 | Self-serve, first 3 trainers included |
| White Label | €169 | Branded iOS and Android apps |
| Studio | €189 | White Label plus Community Plus and Automations |
| Extra trainer | €9.99 | After the 3 included |
