How much does a personal trainer cost in Dubai?
A qualified personal trainer in Dubai typically costs AED 250 to 400 a session, with AED 200 to 300 the most common price, according to ranges published by trainwithus.ae (updated Sep 2026). Hotel gyms and home visits sit higher, at AED 350 to 700, while 10 or 20 session packages bring the effective rate down to about AED 150 to 300.
These are ranges reported by trainers and marketplaces, not an official survey. They are still the best public numbers available, and they match what you see when you compare a few trainers in one area.

| In a commercial gym | 250 to 400 | thrivefitdxb.ae, 2026 |
| Premium or 5-star hotel gym | 400 to 700 | thrivefitdxb.ae, 2026 |
| In your home | 350 to 600 | thrivefitdxb.ae, 2026 |
The venue figures come from the ThriveFit Dubai 2026 cost guide. Both sources are PT businesses, so read them as the market's own description of itself.
What packages cost per session
Buying a block of sessions is the normal way to pay in Dubai, and it lowers the per-session price.
| How you buy | Effective price per session (AED) | Example total |
|---|---|---|
| Single session, qualified coach | 250 to 400 | One session: AED 250 to 400 |
| 10-session package | About 200 to 300 | About AED 2,000 to 3,000 |
| 20+ session package | About 150 to 250 | 20 sessions: about AED 3,000 to 5,000 |
Package rates are from trainwithus.ae (Sep 2026); the totals are simple multiplication. Before you buy, ask three things: how long the package is valid, what happens if you travel for a month in summer, and whether unused sessions are refundable. A cheap 20-pack that expires in 8 weeks costs more than it looks if you only manage one session a week.
What a trainer costs per month
Your monthly bill is the session price times how often you train. Two sessions a week is about 8 to 9 sessions a month.
- Once a week at AED 300: about AED 1,200 to 1,300 a month.
- Twice a week at AED 250 to 300: roughly AED 2,000 to 2,700 a month.
- Three times a week on a 20+ package at AED 200: about AED 2,600 a month.
Add your gym membership if the trainer works in a gym you have to join. Membership costs are covered in our sibling post on gym membership prices in Dubai.
What drives the price up or down
In practice, five things decide where a trainer sits in the range.
- Venue. A hotel gym or your living room costs more than a commercial gym floor, because of travel time or the venue's own fees.
- Experience and specialism. Pre- and postnatal, rehab-focused or competition coaching sits at the top of the range.
- Paperwork. A trainer with a REPs UAE card, insurance and a business licence carries real fixed costs. Our sibling post on the personal trainer license in Dubai and REPs UAE explains what those papers are.
- Session length. Check whether you are buying 45, 50 or 60 minutes.
- What happens between sessions. A program in an app, nutrition guidance and check-ins are worth more than a trainer who only counts reps.
A trainer who quotes AED 120 is not automatically a bargain. Ask about certification and insurance. A trainer at AED 450 is not automatically better either; ask what you get that the AED 300 trainer does not offer.
Abu Dhabi prices
The most recent sourced Abu Dhabi figures we found are older. ServiceMarket, published October 2022, listed at-home general fitness at about AED 269 a session, yoga or boxing at AED 299, and sessions for pairs at AED 349 to 399.
Those are 2022 numbers. Use them as a rough anchor and expect today's quotes to differ.
If you split your week between the two cities, ask whether a trainer travels, and compare against Dubai home-visit prices of AED 350 to 600 before you agree to a travel surcharge. Online check-ins between in-person sessions often work better than paying for the drive.
How 5% VAT fits into the price
Personal training is standard-rated at 5% VAT in the UAE when the seller is VAT-registered. No zero rate or exemption for fitness was found, and the tax invoice must show the trainer's TRN, the date, a description and the VAT amount separately, per the Oncount accounting guide for UAE fitness businesses.
Registration is mandatory above AED 375,000 of taxable supplies a year and voluntary from AED 187,500 (ClearTax UAE VAT guide). A small freelance trainer may not be registered at all, so their price has no VAT in it. A gym's PT price usually does. Always ask "is that including VAT?" before you compare two quotes.
This is general information, not tax advice; trainers should check their position with an accountant or the Federal Tax Authority.
Online coaching as a cheaper option
Online coaching replaces most face-to-face sessions with a program in an app, regular check-ins and chat, so you pay for the plan and the feedback rather than for an hour of someone's time. We did not find a sourced UAE price range for monthly online coaching, so we are not quoting one here.
It suits people who already know how to train safely and need structure and accountability. It suits beginners less, unless it starts with a few in-person sessions to learn technique. Our guides on how much an online personal trainer costs and online personal training in Saudi Arabia and the UAE go further.
One local detail: Dubai summers move a lot of training indoors and online. Our post on training in Gulf heat covers how to adjust sessions when it is too hot to train outside.
Lower-cost ways to get some coaching
If AED 2,000 a month is more than you want to spend, there are cheaper ways to get guidance, each with a trade-off.
- Use the intro session your gym gives you. Some chains include one. GymNation, for example, lists a free personal training session for new members and 400+ group classes in its membership on its Dubai gyms page (checked Oct 2026).
- Train every other week with a coach, and alone in between. Half the sessions, with a written plan for the weeks on your own.
- Share a session. Pairs pay more per session but less per person. The 2022 Abu Dhabi figure for pairs was AED 349 to 399 a session in total.
- Switch to online coaching after a technique block. Ten in-person sessions to learn the main lifts, then a monthly online plan.
The mistake I see most is buying a large package to get the lowest per-session price, then using half of it. Buy the size you will actually finish before it expires.
Questions to ask before you pay
A short list saves you from the most common disappointments:
- Are you registered with REPs UAE, and is your insurance current?
- Is the price per session including VAT?
- How long is a session, and where does it take place?
- How long is the package valid, and can I pause it when I travel?
- Do I get a written program between sessions, or only the sessions?
- How do you track progress: measurements, photos, strength numbers?
- How do I pay: card, Apple Pay, bank transfer or cash?
Where Trainera fits
Trainera is a platform where trainers run their coaching and where clients find a trainer. The trainer marketplace lists trainers with their profiles, and once you work with one, you train in the free Trainera client app on iOS, Android or web: your plan, check-ins, habits and chat with your trainer in one place.
- The client app is free. Clients of a trainer get the features their trainer's plan includes.
- If you train on your own without a trainer, Client Pro is $5.99 a month and Client Premium $6.99 a month, in US dollars, on trainera.fit/pricing for the UAE.
- The app runs in 26 languages, including Arabic and English.
Trainera does not set trainers' prices; each trainer agrees their own. Trainers can take payment through a monthly card subscription (with Apple Pay and Google Pay), per plan, by PayPal or bank transfer, or record cash for in-person sessions. Trainera has no buy-now-pay-later option.
A quick way to budget for a trainer in Dubai
Use these numbers as your planning range for 2026:
- Single session with a qualified coach: AED 250 to 400.
- Package rate: AED 150 to 300 a session, depending on size.
- Hotel gym or home visit: AED 350 to 700.
- Twice a week: roughly AED 2,000 to 2,700 a month at AED 250 to 300 a session.
- VAT: 5% on top if the trainer is registered and quotes before VAT.
Then compare two or three trainers on what you get between sessions, not only on the hourly price.
