Trainera vs Hubfit: Honest 2026 Comparison
An honest, side-by-side look at Trainera and Hubfit: pricing, languages, AI, payments, a full gym module, wearables and the trainers each one fits best.

Choosing the platform you run your coaching business on is a decision you live with every day, so it deserves an honest comparison. This is a fair, side-by-side look at Trainera and Hubfit (formerly hubfit.io, now hubfit.com). All pricing is accurate as of June 2026.
TL;DR
Hubfit is a smaller, lesser-known all-in-one tool that competes in one narrow lane: the English-speaking solo online coach whose clients all pay by card. Every feature is included on every plan, which is genuinely its best argument. But its feature set is thin next to Trainera, and its AI is limited. Trainera follows the same all-included philosophy while starting lower, adding a free plan, including real AI, and covering languages, currencies, payment methods, a full gym module, deep wearables, omnichannel messaging and native mobile features Hubfit does not have. It matches Hubfit where Hubfit is strong and pulls clearly ahead almost everywhere else.
Trainera is built for trainers, online coaches and gyms who want local-language support, local-currency pricing, AI included, flexible client payment methods (including cash and bank transfer with no enablement fee), and a marketplace that brings in new clients. For the Balkan market, and for any coach who wants to be discovered rather than only manage the clients they already have, Trainera is the stronger overall choice.

Pricing: headline vs real bill
Hubfit charges in US dollars only. As of June 2026, Standard is $39 per month for up to 50 clients, Premium is $69 for up to 100 clients, and Ultimate is $119 (which adds team members). There are larger Ultimate tiers up to $419 for 500 clients. Paying annually gives two months free, no contract, with a 14-day trial. Every feature is included on every plan, which is genuinely Hubfit's strongest pricing argument against Trainerize-style paid add-ons.
Trainera uses local-currency pricing and the same all-included philosophy. Starter is from 19.99 KM or $19.99 per month (10 clients), Pro is $49.99 (30 clients), and Business is $99 (100 clients). Croatia and Montenegro pay in euros, Serbia in dinars, and the Balkans pay in BAM. There is also a permanent free plan, and AI, advanced nutrition and client payments are all included rather than sold as add-ons or behind a fee just to switch payments on.
The headline difference: Hubfit's $39 entry point is roughly double Trainera's Starter, it covers fewer features, and you pay in a currency you may not earn in. Trainera matches the all-included model, starts lower, and lets you begin free before you commit a cent. If you are early in your coaching career, starting free and only paying once you have paying clients changes the math considerably.
One pricing detail on the Hubfit side: it offers a custom branded standalone app, but that price is not published and requires contacting the team, so you cannot fully budget for a branded app up front without a sales conversation. Trainera takes the opposite approach: a full white-label native app under your own brand is part of the platform, alongside a custom domain and per-trainer theming, with no separate quote.
Where Hubfit competes and how Trainera answers
Hubfit covers the core coaching workflow competently. Its workout builder handles supersets, circuits, intervals and AMRAP; its nutrition module includes a barcode scanner and in-app food logging; and it has a check-in inbox, habit tracking, a community feed with challenges and leaderboards, voice notes in chat, Stripe payments, and a wide wearable list (Apple Health, Health Connect, Fitbit, Garmin, Whoop, Oura, Cronometer and Zapier).
Trainera matches every one of those daily essentials and then goes deeper. The workout builder supports supersets, circuits and progression with a drag-and-drop calendar planner and a video exercise library, plus video form-review so a client can submit a lift and you critique the technique. Nutrition includes a global USDA-synced food database, recipes, a meal library, per-meal macros, barcode scanning, AI food-photo analysis, and AI shopping lists by day and combined. AI is included on paid plans for training plans, nutrition plans, single workouts, food chat and weekly progress insights, all powered by Claude models and assembled from real exercise and meal libraries rather than invented. Hubfit's AI is limited by comparison.
Trainera also ships gamification most coaching tools lack: XP and levels, 40+ achievements across nine categories, multiple streak types (workout, progressive overload, protein, calorie logging, water intake) and weight milestones like the 100 kg Club. That is the engagement layer that keeps clients logging day after day.
On wearables, Hubfit genuinely reaches a couple of trackers Trainera does not yet, including Garmin, Whoop and Oura. Trainera syncs six of the trackers most clients actually wear (Apple Health, Google Health Connect, Fitbit, Polar, Google Fit and Huawei Health), pulling steps, heart rate, calories, sleep, workouts, weight and hydration. Garmin is on Trainera's roadmap and coming soon. If your entire client base lives on Garmin or Whoop today, that is a real point for Hubfit; for most coaches the core six cover what their clients wear.
Where Hubfit falls short
One detailed Trustpilot review of Hubfit from 2024 noted a small out-of-the-box recipe library, some basic exercises missing, and a sparse client dashboard. A few app-store reviews mention minor issues like not being able to pause a workout when switching screens, limited food portion options and occasional freezing. The team iterates quickly, but the product remains thin in places.
Structurally, Hubfit is built around one app where coaches toggle between trainer and client roles, which some reviewers find awkward. Trainera ships a dedicated web app plus separate iOS and Android apps, with mobile standouts Hubfit does not match: a native Apple Watch app (workout list, active workout, rest timer, heart rate), iOS Live Activities on the lock screen and Dynamic Island, an Android foreground service for reliable background workout tracking, home-screen widgets and push notifications (including when AI generation finishes).
What Trainera does differently
Two whole categories are simply outside Hubfit's scope.
First, a full gym and studio module. A gym is its own entity that owns multiple trainers and members: membership tiers and packages with flexible billing cycles, a 5-digit member number and check-in system with analytics, group training slots with capacity and reservations, staff management with role-based access, equipment inventory, working hours, gym transactions and gym-to-trainer and gym-to-client chat, plus per-gym white-label theming and a custom domain. If you coach online and also run or work in a physical space, Trainera handles both in one place.
Second, omnichannel messaging and discovery. Beyond real-time in-app chat with attachments, read receipts, voice messages and live video calls, Trainera lets you connect WhatsApp Business, Facebook Messenger and Viber so external client messages land in one inbox. And every trainer gets a public branded page, a listing in the trainera.fit marketplace, a program storefront to sell training programs, a referral program, collected reviews and testimonials, and a built-in per-trainer SEO blog engine to attract organic traffic. Trainera also includes 1:1 appointment booking with two-way Google and Outlook calendar sync. Hubfit manages the clients you already have but does not bring you new ones. Payments: the Balkan reality
Hubfit processes client payments through Stripe only. That is clean if every client pays by card. Trainera supports Stripe, PayPal, bank transfer (with a request, approve and decline flow) and cash tracking, with no fee just to enable payments. If a chunk of your clients pay in cash or by bank transfer and your platform only understands cards, you end up keeping a parallel spreadsheet. Trainera records those payments natively, so your revenue picture and your client management live together.
Who should pick which
Choose Hubfit if
- You coach in English only and every client is comfortable paying by card
- Your clients all live on Garmin, Whoop or Oura and those exact integrations are non-negotiable
- You only want to manage the roster you already have, with no need to attract new clients
Choose Trainera if
- Your clients speak Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian or Montenegrin
- You want local-currency pricing, a free plan and a lower entry point
- You need to track cash or bank-transfer payments, not just card
- You run or work in a gym and need memberships, check-in and group classes too
- You want AI training, nutrition and food-photo tools included, plus omnichannel messaging and a marketplace that brings new clients
The Bottom Line
Hubfit is a workable, modern tool with transparent all-included pricing, and it can suit an English-speaking solo coach. But it is a smaller, lesser-known product with a thin feature set, limited AI and a still-small review footprint, with a Trustpilot profile frozen on the old hubfit.io domain. Trainera offers the same all-included model and modern interface, then adds real AI, local languages, local currencies, flexible payments, a full gym module, native mobile and wearable features, omnichannel messaging and a marketplace, so there is little Hubfit does that Trainera does not do as well or better.
For essentially every coach, and especially for trainers in the Balkans, the calculus is simple: local languages, local currencies, cash and bank-transfer payments, AI included, a free plan and a marketplace that brings in new clients line up with how coaching businesses actually grow. Create a free Trainera account and see the difference for yourself.
