What are the best Trainerize alternatives in 2026?

The five worth pricing are Everfit, TrueCoach, Kahunas, PT Distinction and Trainera. At 30 clients they cost $75 (Everfit Pro 35), $164.98 (TrueCoach Pro), $69 (Kahunas Growth), $71.90 (PT Distinction Pro with extra clients) and $49.99 (Trainera Pro, US price) a month, against $79 on Trainerize Pro 30 before its nutrition and payments add-ons. Which one is better depends on what you are replacing: the add-ons, the tier steps, or the price of a branded app.

Why coaches compare alternatives to Trainerize

Trainerize is a capable platform with tiers from a free 1-client plan to Studio Max at $380 for 1,000 clients, per its pricing page. The questions that send coaches shopping are usually about cost structure, not features:

• Add-ons. On Grow and Pro, Advanced Nutrition Coaching costs $20 or $45 a month, Stripe payments $10, Video Coaching $10 and Business $25. With nutrition and Stripe, 30 clients cost $134 a month instead of $79.
• Tier steps. Pro 15 is $50, Pro 30 is $79, Pro 50 is $135 and Pro 75 is $180. Client 31 costs you $56 a month more.
• The branded app. On Pro it is $169 one-time plus Apple's $99 a year. Some alternatives include one in the plan.

What to compare before you switch

• Your cost at your client count in six months, not the entry price.
• What is in the base plan: nutrition, payments, automations and the branded app are add-ons on some tools and included on others.
• Payment fees: a flat monthly fee, a percentage per payment, or both.
• Trial length: from 14 days to a month, and whether a card is needed.
• Migration help: who moves your clients and plans, and whether it costs anything.

The 5 Trainerize alternatives

1. Everfit: lowest price at small rosters, free plan for 5 clients

Everfit has a free Starter plan for up to 5 clients and a Pro plan priced by client tier: $19 for 5, $29 for 10, $49 for 20, $75 for 35, $95 for 50 and $120 for 75, up to $290 for 300. Annual billing saves 16% (Everfit calls it two months free). Studio starts at $105 for 50 clients and runs to $430 for 500, and Enterprise is quote-only.

Like Trainerize, Everfit sells key features as add-ons: Autoflow automation from $29 a month, Meal Plans and Recipe Books from $39, On-Demand Collections from $25 (included in Studio) and Payments and Packages from $9. US payment processing is 3.15% plus 30 cents on domestic cards, including Stripe's fee. Pro and Studio let you add your logo and colours; a fully white-labelled app is Enterprise only. The trial is 30 days with no card, the exercise library is 1,000+, and clients use the app free.

Here is how the add-ons play out at 30 clients. Pro 35 is $75; add Autoflow ($29 for the first 30 clients), Meal Plans and Recipe Books (from $39) and Payments and Packages (from $9), and the bill is at least $152 a month. Trainerize Pro 30 with nutrition and Stripe is $134.

2. TrueCoach: branded app included from 6 clients

TrueCoach has three plans: Starter at $29.98 for up to 5 clients, Standard at $69.98 for up to 20 and Pro at $164.98 for up to 50. Annual billing brings these to $26.34, $57.99 and $136.99 a month. Above 50 clients you ask for a quote. Standard and Pro include a custom-branded fitness app, wearables (Apple, Garmin and WHOOP) and public coach profiles.

The pricing FAQ says there are no extra subscription fees. Payments through TrueCoach carry a flat 5% per transaction on the invoice total, refunds included. The exercise library is 3,000+ videos, nutrition runs through the MyFitnessPal Nutrition and Habit Tracker, and the trial is 14 days with no card. First-time annual subscribers get a 90-day money-back guarantee.

3. Kahunas: three flat plans, unlimited clients on the top one

Kahunas shows its prices on its homepage in "$" without naming the currency: Essentials $35 for up to 25 clients, Growth $69 for up to 50 and Ultimate $99 for unlimited clients. Yearly billing is $315, $621 and $900, which on Essentials and Growth is nine months' price for twelve.

Essentials already includes custom check-in forms, habit tracking, unlimited workout and nutrition plans, 1,000+ exercise videos, 1.6 million verified foods and 800k barcodes. Growth adds automations, lead gen forms, bulk client upload and Zapier. Ultimate adds your own branded iOS and Android apps with your own store listings; you need your own Apple developer account at $99 a year. Kahunas says it takes no commission on sales through Stripe or PayPal. The trial is 14 days, and the founder's guarantee offers a same-day refund if you are not satisfied after 3 months.

Good fit: online coaches who want nutrition and check-ins in a $35 plan, or a branded app with unlimited clients at $99. Less good: no free tier, and Growth's extensions and Ultimate's team members have no published prices. See Trainerize vs Kahunas.

4. PT Distinction: branded apps on Pro and Master, extra trainers free

PT Distinction has three monthly plans with no minimum term: Basic $19.90 for 3 clients, Pro $59.90 for 25 and Master $89.90 for 50. Extra clients cost $6 each on Basic, $2.40 on Pro and $1.60 on Master (the first month of each extra client is free). Pro and Master include your own custom branded Android and iOS apps, and you can add as many trainers as you want for free.

The pricing page lists an AI program builder, AI meal planner, AI assistant, automated workflows, scheduled email and SMS, and exercise technique reviews, and says these features come included with no hidden fees. The free trial is one month. PT Distinction's own commission on client payments is not published.

Good fit: coaches or small teams who want a branded app at 10 to 30 clients and need several trainer logins. Less good: no annual discount, and per-client charges above the plan limit add up. See PT Distinction vs Trainerize.

5. Trainera: flat price per plan, free for 3 clients

Trainera charges one price per plan, with no per-client or add-on charges. In US dollars, as shown on trainera.fit/pricing for the US: Free $0 for 3 clients, Starter $19.99 for 10, Pro $49.99 for 30, Business $99 for 75, and Enterprise on a custom quote with unlimited clients. Prices differ by country (the UK, Australia, Canada and the eurozone see local-currency prices), and yearly billing is about 10 times the monthly price.

Training and nutrition plans, check-ins, habits and chat are in every plan, with 1,970+ exercises with video and 1,500+ recipes, and questionnaires even on Free. Automations start on Starter (1, then 3 on Pro and 10 on Business), live streams on Pro and courses on Business. Clients connect Apple Health, Health Connect, Fitbit or Polar, and the iPhone app comes with an Apple Watch app. The app runs in 26 languages, and trainers can be listed in the Trainera trainer marketplace.

Payments work by card, PayPal, bank transfer or cash. Coaching payments through Trainera's Stripe or PayPal carry a platform fee of 8% on Free and Starter, 5% on Pro, 3% on Business and 1% on Enterprise; cash and bank transfer are 0%. Your own store app comes only with Enterprise, which Trainera builds and publishes for you; Business gives you your own logo and a website on your own domain.

Good fit: coaches who want nutrition included and a bill that only moves when they change plan. Less good: if you want a branded app below Enterprise, TrueCoach, PT Distinction and Kahunas include one at lower tiers. If your clients use Garmin or WHOOP, Trainera does not connect to them. Cost at 10, 30 and 75 clients

Monthly billing, smallest plan that fits, no add-ons. For per-client pricing the extra client charges are included.

With its nutrition and Stripe add-ons, Trainerize becomes $80, $134 and $235. With Payments and Packages, Everfit adds $9 a month plus processing. Annual billing lowers most of these: Trainerize by 10%, Everfit by about 16%, TrueCoach to $57.99 and $136.99, and Kahunas to $26.25, $51.75 and $75 a month. PT Distinction is monthly only.

• Coach who wants a branded app now: TrueCoach Standard up to 20 clients, PT Distinction Pro up to 25 plus extras, or Kahunas Ultimate with no client limit.
• Small team with several trainers: PT Distinction, where extra trainers are free.
• Coach whose clients wear Garmin or WHOOP: TrueCoach Standard or Pro lists both.

When staying on Trainerize makes sense

Switching costs time, and clients notice. Staying is reasonable if:

• You have 1 or 2 clients: Basic is free and Grow is $10.
• You run a studio with hundreds of clients and want every add-on included at a published price: Studio Plus is $275 for 500 clients and Studio Max $380 for 1,000.
• You want a branded app and prefer a one-time $169 fee to a higher monthly plan.
• You do not coach nutrition in detail and take payments outside the app, so the add-ons do not apply to you.

How to pick and move without losing clients

1. Write down your roster in six months and price each tool at that number with the table above.
2. List the add-ons you actually use on Trainerize today and check which alternatives include them.
3. Shortlist two tools and run their trials with two or three real clients, including one check-in and one nutrition change.
4. Keep Trainerize for one overlapping month, rebuild your most used templates first, and move payments last so nobody is charged twice.
