Trainera vs My PT Hub: Honest 2026 Comparison
An honest, side-by-side look at Trainera and My PT Hub: pricing, AI, the full gym module, omnichannel chat, payments, wearables, documented review themes and the trainers each one fits best.

The platform you run your coaching business on is a decision you live with every day. This is a fair, side-by-side look at Trainera and My PT Hub, one of the longest-running and most widely used coaching platforms. All pricing is accurate as of June 2026.
TL;DR
My PT Hub is a mature platform that has been running since 2015, with a large user base and solid aggregate ratings (4.6/5 on Capterra across 3,000+ reviews). Its one clear edge is flat unlimited-client pricing, which only starts to pay off once you already run a very large roster. Against that, it is English-only, card-only through Stripe, has a dated and cluttered interface, charges for Check-Ins AI as an add-on, charges separately for its white-label app, has no gym or studio module, and offers no marketplace to bring in new clients.
Trainera bundles everything most coaches actually need into the plan price: AI for training, nutrition, single workouts, food-photo scanning, barcode lookup and shopping lists, a full white-label native app under your own brand, a full gym and studio module, omnichannel chat over WhatsApp, Messenger and Viber with voice messages and live video calls, payments including cash, bank transfer, installments and trials, a native Apple Watch app, achievements and streaks, and a marketplace plus per-trainer SEO blog engine that bring in new clients. It is the stronger all-round choice for solo coaches, growing trainers and gyms alike, and the clear winner for the Balkan market.

My PT Hub Pricing (2026): headline vs the real bill
My PT Hub charges in GBP, USD or EUR depending on your region, with near-identical numerals. As of June 2026, Starter is about 25 EUR per month but is limited to 3 clients, 50 workouts and 50 nutrition plans. Premium, with unlimited clients, workouts and nutrition plans, is about $55 or 55 GBP per month (roughly 59 EUR), or about $48 paid annually. Ultimate is around 215 EUR per month for teams. There is a 30-day free trial, after which the account auto-downgrades to a Free plan whose limits are not published.
The flat unlimited-clients price is My PT Hub's strongest single argument, but it is a narrow one. It only starts to win once you already run a large roster, and even then full white-label is about 145 EUR per month and Check-Ins AI, Zapier and extra trainers are each separate charges on top, so the real monthly bill climbs as you grow.
Trainera's pricing is simple: a free plan to start, Starter at $19.99 per month (10 clients), Pro at $49.99 per month (30 clients), and Business at $99 per month (100 clients), with local-currency pricing for Balkan markets in KM, EUR and RSD. Everything is included: AI, advanced nutrition, the gym module and client payments are part of the plan, not add-ons stacked on top. For the typical solo or growing coach the total cost and the starting risk both favour Trainera.
AI: included vs add-on
This is where the gap has widened most. My PT Hub's main AI feature, Check-Ins AI, is a paid add-on, and reviewers describe its automation as helpful but limited. Trainera puts AI at the center of the product and includes all of it in the paid plans:
- AI training plans assembled deterministically from a real exercise library, so the app never invents exercises that do not exist.
- AI nutrition plans that respect diet type and allergens, with calories and macros calculated via Mifflin-St Jeor and TDEE, assembled from a real meal library.
- AI single-workout generation for one-off sessions.
- AI food-photo analysis: a client snaps a photo of a meal and gets an estimate of macros and calories.
- Barcode scanning against OpenFoodFacts for packaged foods.
- AI shopping-list generation, by day and combined, with PDF export.
- Weekly AI insights on each client's progress, plus AI questionnaire and intake generation.
For a coach who wants less time on admin and more on coaching, included AI of this depth is a structural advantage, not a checkbox.
Where My PT Hub competes, and how Trainera answers
Both platforms cover the core coaching workflow. My PT Hub's workout builder handles supersets, drop sets, AMRAP and periodized programs, with nutrition and meal planning, habit coaching, automated check-ins, a calendar with one-to-one and group bookings, classes and livestreams, chat, progress photos and metrics, communities, and a library of editable templates. Trainera matches that breadth where it counts (a drag-and-drop calendar workout builder with supersets, circuits and progression over a video exercise library, nutrition with a meal library and macro tracking, check-ins, calendar, chat and progress tracking) and then pulls ahead with included AI, a full white-label native app, video form-review where the client submits a lift and the trainer reviews technique, a full gym module, omnichannel chat, broader payments and a marketplace.
Trainera also adds a gamification layer that keeps clients engaged: XP and levels, more than 40 achievements across nine categories, streaks for workouts, progressive overload, protein, calorie and water logging, and weight milestones like the 100 kg Club. On mobile it ships a native Apple Watch app (login, workout list, active workout, rest timer, heart rate), iOS Live Activities on the lock screen and Dynamic Island, an Android foreground service for background workout tracking, push notifications, offline cache and home-screen widgets, a deeper mobile experience than My PT Hub offers.
Where My PT Hub falls short
It is fair to lean on documented review themes. Capterra review summaries flag a dated, cluttered interface with many modules and recurring glitches as My PT Hub's most consistent negatives, along with slow performance. Support is largely email-only, though the Capterra support sub-rating is still 4.5, so support is mixed rather than uniformly bad. Nutrition is shallower than specialist tools, with no curated assignable recipe library or automated meal-plan generation, and the AI layer is thin compared with what is now expected. Trainera, by contrast, syncs a global USDA food database, ships an assignable recipe and meal library, supplement and water tracking, and generates meal plans automatically. Where My PT Hub feels like a mature tool carrying years of accumulated UI, Trainera feels current.
Languages and localization
My PT Hub is English only, and reviewers explicitly note it does not yet support adding other languages or showing the app in the client's system language. None of Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian or Montenegrin are available, and clients use an app most when it speaks their language. Trainera offers its interface in 21 languages, including Bosnian, Croatian and Serbian, with support in the local language. For trainers serving Balkan clients, this is the single most decisive difference.
Payments and communication
My PT Hub processes client payments through Stripe only, with one-time and recurring packages and Apple Pay on mobile, adding no commission beyond Stripe's fees. That is clean if all your clients pay by card, but Stripe availability depends on the trainer's country, and in many markets a large share of clients pay in cash or by bank transfer.
Trainera supports Stripe, PayPal, bank transfer (with a request, approve and decline flow) and cash tracking, with no fee to enable payments, plus free enrollment, installment plans, trial management and one-time coaching invoices alongside subscriptions. On communication, Trainera adds omnichannel chat: connect WhatsApp Business, Facebook Messenger and Viber so messages from external contacts land in the same inbox you use for in-app chat, with voice messages and live video calls built in. My PT Hub keeps messaging inside its own app only.
Gyms, studios and hybrid coaching
This is a category My PT Hub does not really address. Trainera includes a full gym and studio module where the gym is its own entity that owns multiple trainers and members. It handles membership tiers and expiry, membership packages with flexible billing cycles, a 5-digit member number and check-in system with analytics, recurring group training slots with capacity and level filters, staff management with role-based access, equipment inventory, working hours, gym transactions, and gym-to-trainer and gym-to-client chat, plus a per-gym white-label theme and custom domain. If you coach online, run group classes and operate out of a physical studio, Trainera covers all three in one place. Getting new clients
This is the biggest strategic difference. My PT Hub's "Marketplace" is a content template library plus a tab where your existing clients buy your packages; it is not a public directory that sends new leads to trainers. Trainera gives every trainer a public branded web page (24 customizable color fields, custom logo, custom domain on higher tiers), a listing in the trainera.fit marketplace, and a per-trainer SEO blog engine so your content ranks and brings in organic traffic. For a new or growing trainer, that is the difference between a database and a growth engine.
Wearables: an honest concession
Wearable breadth is one of the few places My PT Hub can claim an edge. It syncs with Apple Watch, Fitbit, Garmin and MyFitnessPal, and a coach deep in the Garmin ecosystem may currently reach a tracker Trainera does not. Trainera integrates six trackers that cover what most clients actually wear: Apple Health, Google Health Connect, Fitbit, Polar, Google Fit and Huawei Health. Garmin is on Trainera's roadmap and coming soon. On the branded-app front there is no concession to make: Trainera includes a full white-label native app under your own brand on both app stores, plus API access on request, all in the plan price, where My PT Hub charges roughly 145 EUR per month extra for its white-label tier.
Who should pick which
Choose My PT Hub if
- You coach in English only and every client is comfortable paying by card
- You already run a very large roster where a flat unlimited-client fee clearly beats per-tier pricing
- Garmin sync is your single highest priority and you do not need to attract new clients
Choose Trainera if
- You want AI for training, nutrition, food-photo scanning and shopping lists included, not as paid add-ons
- You run a gym or studio, or coach in person and online, and want members, packages and check-in in one place
- You accept cash or bank transfer and want it tracked alongside card payments
- You want to reach clients on WhatsApp, Messenger and Viber from one inbox
- You want new clients to discover you through a marketplace and SEO content, not just to manage existing ones
- Your clients speak Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian or another local language
The Bottom Line
My PT Hub is an established platform, and for an English-speaking coach who already runs a large card-paying roster, its flat unlimited-client pricing ticks one box in that narrow case. For everyone else, the picture is clear: included AI, a full gym module, omnichannel chat, cash and bank-transfer payments, a deeper Apple Watch experience, gamification, and a marketplace plus SEO engine all favour Trainera, which matches My PT Hub's core toolkit and lets you start free with no risk.
